More recently the use of satellite and fiber optics has made communication even more wide spread, with an increasing emphasis on computer and other data communication.

In this context, the various forms of modern communication include radio telephony and telegraphy, broadcasting, point-to-point and mobile communication (commercial or military), computer communication, radar, radio telemetry and radio aids to navigation. Latest trends like VLSI technologies, embedded systems, digital signal processing, satellite communication, mobile and cellular technologies, internet technologies are taking electronics and communication field on to the wide platform of emerging technologies.

Observing the trend towards these technologies, the college has started a course in Electronics and Communication Engineering from academic year 2001 to meet the demand which will be created in coming times for high-tech Electronics and Communication engineers.

First batch of students from EC Department completed their B.E. in June 2005. A good number of students are absorbed in INFOSYS, TCS, IDEA-Chit chat, Mahindra British Telecom and few other reputed companies.

A few of them have gone for higher studies in USA, Canada, Australia as well as our own country.Some of the pre final year students (2005-06) have already been selected in INFOSYS and sathyam computers.
